Vassilikos: This is a wonderfully unspoilt area of the island located 14 kilometres from Zakynthos Town and offering luxurious accommodation for the more discerning visitor.  The winding road to Vassilikos is very green and beautiful and the accommodation in this area is of the highest standard and spread over a wide area. 

Vassilikos offers the best sandy beaches on the island such as Plaka Beach and Porto Roma.  Porto Zoro, Banana Beach and Dafni are all beautiful beaches in the area and definitely worth a visit.   

Gerakas: This beach area is one of the main nesting grounds of the Loggerhead Sea Turtle and as such has certain restrictions, such as no water sports. The beach is also carefully monitored and protected to ensure the well-being of the endangered species.  The large sandy beach itself is truly breathtaking, a perfect spot for a relaxed day in the sun. 

Accommodation and facilities in Gerakas are very limited: just some small cottages, villas and tavernas for those looking for real tranquillity and to be close to an area of outstanding beauty and unique nature.
