Alykes and Alykanas:
Separated by a narrow river, these two interconnected small
resorts are on the Northeast coast of the island, around 20 kilometres
from Zakynthos Town. The resorts, thanks to their relatively small
size, offer a quiet holiday experience with the advantage of a large
beach overlooking the neighbouring island of Kefalonia.
Indeed from the port of St Nicholas – around twenty minutes drive up the
winding coast, ferry and boat trips to the island as well as the nearby
and stunning Blue Caves are available.
Many guests in Alykes (named after the salt pans located in the resort)
and Alykanas hire cars, mopeds and even bicycles to further explore the
coast and enjoy its breathtaking views. Between Alykes and
Alykanas horse-drawn buggies are available for hire. The nightlife
in the resorts is fairly laid-back, but there are many good restaurants
and buzzing bars for those looking for more of a lively atmosphere.
The transfer time from the airport
is approximately 45 minutes.
